The questions that come up most often.
I did not receive the confirmation email#
Check your spam folder: it comes from noreply@skyengpro.com. Otherwise, choose Resend the email on the portal page shown after sign-up.
I cannot see my instance any more#
Check the Location and Project in the top bar: lists show only those selected. The Show all locations link above the list shows what exists elsewhere.
I cannot create a resource: quota reached#
The Overview and the wizard's summary show your quotas. Free what you no longer use (instances, volumes, floating IPs) or contact SkyEngPro for an increase.
My instance is stopped, why is it billed?#
A stopped instance keeps its resources reserved, so it is billed for as long as it exists. Delete it to stop its billing; take a snapshot first if you want it back later.
I cannot connect over SSH#
- Does the instance have a floating IP?
- Does a security group allow port 22 from your address?
- Are you using the right private key and the image's user (for example
ubuntuon Ubuntu)?
As a last resort, Open console reaches the instance's screen without any network.
My instance does not answer ping#
Ping only gets through if one of the instance's security groups allows it: add the Ping (ICMP echo request) rule. See Network.
The console disconnected#
Choose Reconnect to request a new console link. The console only works while the instance is active or in rescue mode.
“Session expired”#
Your sign-in ended, for example after a long time idle. Sign in again; you return to the console.
What is the bell for?#
The bell in the top bar gathers your notifications: quotas nearly or fully reached, and resources in error (instance, volume, network, router, port, floating IP) or snapshots and backups that failed. “Nothing to report.” when all is well.
